UK Startup Prepares Prototype of Electric-Powered Truck
Electric vehicles are no longer a novelty. In recent years, the sustainable energy sector has been growing very rapidly, which is seen as excellent news for the environment since it will drastically reduce carbon emissions in the long run. Today, in addition to light vehicles, electric trucks are also a novelty that promises to shake up the market.
The English startup Volta Trucks is working on an electric truck capable of carrying up to 16 tons, reducing carbon emissions and benefiting the environment. Volta Trucks has confirmed the start of testing for the first prototype of the electric truck.
Ian Collins, product director at Volta Trucks, talked about the new product: “The start of testing and evaluation of the first Volta Zero prototype is an important milestone in our journey toward production and an exciting moment for the entire Volta Trucks team and our customers. Reaching this milestone in just eight months is a great example of the agile and responsive approach we have at Volta Trucks,” he said.

In a statement, the company highlights that it is working hard to deliver electric trucks with low carbon emissions as quickly as possible. However, there are still important points to be tested, such as the rear axle, electric motor, and other electric properties of the truck.
The electric truck promises a range of up to 200 KM with its electric battery. Additionally, it aims to reduce about 1.2 million tons of CO2 from the atmosphere by the year 2025.
The Volta Zero is an electric truck focused on urban logistics and is not intended for long journeys. The project’s idea is to generate savings on fuel while helping to reduce gas emissions that harm the environment.
