Video: The SS Norbe VI Drilling Unit from Ocyan Will Stay at the Shipyard for Routine Maintenance. Likely Opportunities Ahead

The Enseada has just received the SS Norbe VI drilling unit, owned by Ocyan. The forecast is that the platform will remain at the shipyard for routine maintenance. According to the Director of New Business at Enseada, Ruffo Chiconelli, few shipyards in Brazil have docks with a depth of 13m to accommodate a rig without removing the thrusters – a propulsion device installed at the bottom of the vessel.

“Berthing a platform without removing the thrusters is a differentiator for our clients. In addition to 1 km of dock with 13m depth, we are a Private Use Terminal (TUP), licensed by ANTAQ to receive and store equipment/materials directly at the shipyard. Another advantage of our industrial park is that we have a 29 MW electrical substation, which allows vessels to be energized without the need for their own generation, resulting in savings for our clients,” reveals Ruffo.
