With the promise of modern infrastructure and better connectivity, the state is preparing to receive more than R$20 billion in improvements to its roads.
Paraná is about to become the center of attention in Brazil, with a billionaire investment that will transform your highways.
More than 660 km of roads will receive investments, promising to modernize the infrastructure, generate thousands of jobs and place the state at the top of national logistics.

This value, which impresses any expert in the sector, was confirmed in an auction held this Thursday (19) at B3, in São Paulo.
The National Land Transport Agency (ANTT), together with the Ministry of Transport (MT), granted Lot 6 of the Paraná Integrated Highways to the Infraestrutura PR Consortium, composed of the companies EPR 2 Participações SA and Perfin Voyager.
With experience in highway concessions, the consortium represented by the brokerage firm Necton Investimentos secured the concession of the lot with a modest discount of 0,08% on the toll fee.
What is behind the largest road investment in Paraná?
With a 30-year contract, Lot 6 covers a total of 662,1 kilometers of highways. This includes important sections of BRs 163, 277 and 469, as well as state highways PR-158, PR-180, PR-182, PR-280 and PR-483.
This is the largest road project ever planned for the state, and it includes the duplication of 462 kilometers of roads, the implementation of 31 kilometers of additional lanes and significant improvements to road safety and infrastructure.
According to industry experts, the duplication of BR-277, one of the most important stretches for the flow of goods in Paraná, is one of the most anticipated projects.
This highway connects the capital Curitiba to the Port of Paranaguá, which is considered the second largest port in Brazil.
In addition, the construction of 38 walkways, 14 wildlife crossings and stopping and resting points along the route will bring greater safety and comfort to drivers and pedestrians.
The impact of the revolution on Paraná's highways
According to ANTT's general director, Rafael Vitale, the auction of Lot 6 symbolizes a true revolution in Brazilian road infrastructure.
“This robust project is the result of integrated and transparent work. ANTT, in partnership with the Ministry of Transport and Infra SA, delivered a strategy for transferring assets to the private sector, advancing public works and rehabilitating old contracts. This is a milestone that should inspire other states,” celebrated Vitale.
For Jorge Bastos, CEO of Infra SA, the relevance of this project goes far beyond the physical works.
“This project guarantees important works, fair rates and thousands of new jobs. It will reduce logistics costs, increase road safety and strengthen the competitiveness of the production sector. Paraná is in excellent hands”, highlighted the executive.
How will the economy of Paraná be impacted?
Paraná's production sector will also experience significant growth with improvements to highways.
In the west of the state, the region with the greatest economic growth, improving road infrastructure will be a key factor in strengthening cooperatives and the food industries.
The new highways will reduce logistical costs, making the state more competitive in terms of production and export.
It is estimated that the project will generate 289 thousand direct, indirect and income-generating jobs.
These numbers will not only contribute to the generation of jobs and income in the state, but will also represent a positive impact on local economies and the strengthening of key sectors of the Brazilian economy.
International connectivity and integration with Paraguay
Another highlight of the project is the improvement of the highways that connect Paraná to Paraguay, with three international interconnections.
The duplication of BR-277, which passes through Cascavel, Matelândia and reaches Foz do Iguaçu, will complete the connection to the border with the neighboring country.
These works will allow greater integration between Brazil and Paraguay, increasing the competitiveness of cross-border trade.
The impact in Brazil and next steps
The concession of the Paraná highways also consolidates Brazil as a world leader in road projects.
This year alone, seven road auctions generated R$82 billion in contracts, and Paraná was one of the regions that benefited the most.
The Minister of Transport, Renan Filho, highlighted the importance of this project for the state and the country as a whole.
“With these auctions, the state will be an example of infrastructure and growth. We have completed 66% of the package and in 2025 we will auction two more lots. Paraná will be even stronger and more influential in Brazil,” said the minister.
The contract is scheduled to be signed in April 2025, and toll collection will begin by May of the same year, in line with the schedule for implementing improvements.
What to expect from the future of Paraná's roads?
With the completion of Lot 6 and the progress of the road works in other regions, Paraná will consolidate itself as a true logistics hub in Brazil.
The connectivity of its highways, in addition to allowing greater integration with other states and neighboring countries, will bring long-term benefits to the local and national economy.
