The New Investments in the Factory in Minas Gerais
According to the CEO of the group, Eduardo Coli, the investments will be made in two phases, culminating in the production of 200,000 pieces per month. The first phase, which has already begun, is expected to last about a year and a half and will consume R$ 80 million. The second phase will require the remaining funds, further expanding the installed capacity of the plant.
“Since acquiring the factory in 2015, we have made investments totaling around R$ 210 million in adaptations and expansions. Since then, we have increased from 24,000 square meters of built area to the current 35,000 square meters, and we will reach 54,000 square meters with this expansion, on a 185,000 square meter plot. We still have a little room to grow, but we can’t reach 300,000 pieces. For a larger leap, we will need to review our strategy,” he states.

GSA Alimentos was the winner of the bidding process for occupying the large warehouse that the City Hall of Ouro Preto built in the Cachoeira do Campo Industrial District, in Minas Gerais state. The company is expected to set up a food supply factory, potentially generating around 300 jobs in the district.
The city mayor, Angelo Oswaldo, announced on Monday (10/4) the winner of the bidding process that granted this concession, with no remuneration and with encumbrances. The future factory that will generate 300 new jobs will be the first construction in the District Industrial lot, which has an area of 45,013.35 m² and, according to the mayor, will become an industrial hub in the Cachoeira do Campo district.
“Ouro Preto is a city that lives off mining and tourism, and now we will bring companies for the long-desired diversification of the city’s economy. And the Industrial District will effectively be a generator of jobs and income.” According to the mayor, the bidding process for the factory was opened after finding irregularities in the previous administration, which granted another company the concession of the area for installing a venture that would generate about 20 jobs.
