With constant investments in SP, the Japanese company Toyota, a vehicle manufacturer, announced this Thursday (09/19) that it will invest around R$ 1 billion in its Sorocaba factory.
The investment is for the implementation of a production line for a car expected to launch in the Brazilian market in 2021. Petrobras Raises Diesel and Gasoline Prices at Refineries Today!
The Sorocaba (SP) factory was chosen precisely because it already has possibilities for expansion in the initial project and also has a good supply chain nearby, which facilitates logistics.
The factory has been operational since 2012 and already produces the Etios and Yaris models of the brand. Toyota has not disclosed further details about the new vehicle or the launch date.
However, according to information gathered by UOL Carros, the news is a compact SUV, derived from a low-cost concept by Daihatsu (a brand owned by Toyota), and production will begin in March 2021.
