It is the second piece of news involving problems on Modec platforms in Brazil; in August, cracks were found in the hull of the FPSO Cidade do Rio de Janeiro platform.
Modec informed yesterday, September 23, that the operations of the FPSO Cidade de Santos platform, operated by it on behalf of Petrobras in the Uruguá and Tambaú fields, in the Santos basin, were suspended after an inspection by authorities on the 19th of this month, point out nonconformities in the platform. In August, Modec reported that cracks were found in the platform's hull FPSO City of Rio de Janeiro.
The suspension of activities on the FPSO Cidade de Santos platform was the result of Operation Ouro Negro, which carries out inspection and inspection actions on offshore platforms and is normally made up of bodies such as the Navy, the regulatory ANP, the Public Ministry of Labor (MPT), the federal environmental agency Ibama, among others.

FPSO Cidade de Santos is located in the Santos Basin and produces around 8,5 barrels of oil per day, according to operator Modec.
The Japanese multinational did not go into detail about the nature or the volume of non-conformities found by Operation Ouro Nego.
According to the company, the audit recommended improvements in the management of benzene, a substance that, according to it, would be a natural characteristic of this field.
"The vessel's team is working to resolve the pending issues and resume unit operation as soon as possible," said the modec, without informing details about the deadline.
Modec also stated that the platform continues with the maximum number of people on board and that there was no disembarkation due to recurrence of the non-conformities.
It is the second news involving problems on Modec platforms in Brazil in about a month. FPSO is a type of floating oil and gas production, storage and offloading vessel.
Petrobras preferred not to comment on what happened so far.
