Project Shows How to Transform a Used Ford Ka into a Tech Car with Multimedia, Camera, and Rear Sensor, Updated Lighting and Appearance, Spending Much Less than Factory Equipment
For less than R$ 1,000 – and about R$ 500 only on accessories – a Ford Ka was transformed into a “tech car,” receiving multimedia with CarPlay and Android Auto, a rear camera and sensor, white lighting, wheel covers, and finishing items.
The project was presented by the Hiperfoco Channel Cars and shows how simple upgrades can enhance comfort, safety, and aesthetics without spending what is normally paid extra for a car already equipped from the factory.
The proposal is based on a direct comparison with the Brazilian market: models that already come from the factory with CarPlay and Android Auto usually cost, on average, around R$ 5,000 more.

With a 1.0 engine producing 75 hp and costing less than R$ 70,000, Fiat’s car returns to the podium as the cheapest in the country; a temporary promotion for the 2026 Like version reduces the price of the Fiat Mobi.

With a mild hybrid system of 48 V, 176 hp and a price of R$ 175,990 in the Sahara version, the new Jeep Renegade changes mostly on the inside, improves slightly in fuel consumption, and remains almost the same car.

With a 293.5 cm³ engine and a range of up to 400 km with a 14.1-liter tank, the Honda CB 300F Twister 2026 has up to 24.7 hp, an initial price of R$ 25,150, and already exceeds R$ 29,000 in the Fipe Table.

With a 1.3 engine, nearly 700 km of range, and Turbo 200, the Fiat model surpasses Polo, Tera HB20, and Onix, becoming the best-selling car in March; see the numbers for the Fiat Strada and others.
The alternative found was to use popular accessories sold in marketplaces, focusing on cost-effectiveness and accessible installation. The result is a functional car for daily use, with technologies now considered basic, but absent in many used cars.
Multimedia with CarPlay and Android Auto for R$ 400
The central item of the project is the multimedia system, purchased for about R$ 400. Despite the low price, the device offers wired mirroring for both iOS and Android, ensuring access to navigation via maps, music in streaming apps, calls, and voice commands.
According to the channel, the choice to use a wired connection is not a limitation, but an advantage. In addition to avoiding excessive battery consumption on the phone, the wired connection reduces common failures in wireless systems, such as signal drops and slowdowns.
The multimedia system also features a built-in microphone, allowing voice commands directly via the screen, as well as sound equalization options and basic interface customization.
Rear Sensor and Camera Enhance Safety
Another highlight of the project is the rear sensor set with a camera. The sensor, found for about R$ 60, includes parts in the color of the vehicle and emits sound alerts according to the proximity of obstacles. Professional installation usually costs between R$ 80 and R$ 100, but the video emphasizes that, with simple tools and tutorials available online, it is possible to do the installation at home.
The rear camera complements the system, displaying images directly on the multimedia system when reversing. The set reduces the risk of minor collisions and facilitates maneuvers, especially in tight spaces. The channel cites everyday examples to reinforce the practical impact of the accessory, highlighting that simple items can prevent greater losses.
White Lighting with Inmetro Seal
The replacement of the original bulbs with white lighting was another upgrade made. The complete kit, including low and high beams, cost about R$ 200, but simpler versions can go for approximately R$ 100. One point emphasized is the presence of the Inmetro seal, ensuring compliance with Brazilian legislation.
The white lighting delivers a modern visual similar to xenon, but without violating traffic rules. In addition to the aesthetic gain, the channel highlights an improvement in night visibility, reinforcing the relationship between low cost and real benefit in daily use.
Updated Aesthetics with Wheel Covers and Floor Mats
In terms of appearance, the project opted for black wheel covers with discreet details, purchased for just over R$ 100 for a set of four pieces. The choice considered the color of the original wheels, avoiding excessive contrast and helping to hide signs of wear.
Customized floor mats for the model were also on the list, featuring the specific car logo and tailored finishing. As a bonus, the seller included door sills, enhancing the interior. They are simple details, but they significantly alter the perception of care and finishing of the vehicle.
Total Cost and Labor
Adding multimedia, sensors, camera, lighting, wheel covers, and floor mats, the value of the accessories was close to R$ 500. The labor for the installation of the main items — multimedia, sensor, and lights — was around R$ 300. The channel emphasizes that, by eliminating professional installation and doing part of the work at home, the total cost could be even lower.
A More Tech and Functional Used Car
The Ford Ka used in the project was nicknamed the “Shopee Car,” precisely for gathering accessible and easy-to-find accessories in Brazil, without the need for importation. The central idea is to show that it is not necessary to change cars or spend much to have technologies present in newer models.
In the end, the Hiperfoco Channel Cars reinforces that initiatives like this democratize access to automotive technology and encourage owners to customize their vehicles consciously.
The result is a safer, more comfortable, and modern car, proving that, with the right choices, cost-effectiveness is still the main differential in the Brazilian used market.
