Panda-inspired design, intelligent sensors, and automatic fabric recognition place Changhong’s new washing machine among the highlights of CES 2026, expanding the competition for space in the connected home market and reinforcing the transformation of the laundry room into an increasingly automated and integrated environment.

Changhong presented at CES 2026 in Las Vegas a washing machine with artificial intelligence, panda-inspired design, and automatic features to recognize fabrics, adjust cycles, and integrate the laundry room into a smart home ecosystem.

The equipment is part of a line of connected appliances that includes television, refrigerator, and air conditioner, all associated with the concept “AI Technology + Human-Centric Design,” used by the Chinese manufacturer to bring automation, sensors, and everyday use closer together.

AI washing machine bets on automatic fabric recognition

The main promise of the washing machine is the automatic identification of fabrics, a feature that allows the device to adapt washing programs according to the load placed in the drum, reducing the need for manual settings by the user.

According to Changhong, the model also uses a triple cleaning system, called by the company “triple-power cleaning,” aimed at the efficient care of clothes during washing cycles.

This combination positions the product in a category that goes beyond the conventional washing machine, treating the laundry room as part of a connected home, with devices capable of interpreting usage conditions and responding automatically.

Panda design becomes a differentiator among smart appliances

The panda-inspired look is one of the most unusual elements of the novelty, especially in a segment marked by discreet finishes, neutral colors, and a visual language closer to traditional premium appliances.

The choice of character reinforces a strategy to make interaction with home appliances less impersonal, bringing technology, routine, and visual identity closer together in large-scale products used inside the home.

In the same thematic line, Changhong presented a TV with the Panda Xiaobai assistant, as well as a refrigerator with cloud-based humidity control and an air conditioner with adaptive cooling.

Adaptive sensors enhance connected home integration

The manufacturer’s proposal also includes environmental sensors, adaptive control, and automatic responses, features that help devices adjust their operation according to the environment and needs detected during use.

In the washing machine, these systems are combined with automatic programs and fabric recognition, creating an experience less dependent on traditional commands and closer to the standard adopted in other smart devices.

Although the company highlights the integration between products, complete details about price, launch markets, washing machine capacity, or sales date in specific countries have not been disclosed.

The launch accompanies a broader shift in the home appliance sector, where washing machines, refrigerators, and climate control devices are starting to compete as connected devices, with sensors, automation, and interaction through artificial intelligence.
