Thinking Of Presenting The Potential Of RN, The Governor Of The State Traveled To Denmark In Search Of New Investments In Renewable Energy
The Governor of RN, Fátima Bezerra, attended the Latin American Business Forum, organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Copenhagen Business School, and the Confederation of Danish Industry this Wednesday (10) in Denmark. On the occasion, the governor stated that she was not there by chance, but to advance RN, the Northeast, and Brazil with investments in clean energy. The state and Denmark have several things in common when it comes to seeking sustainable sources.

RN Has 201 Wind Power Parks In Operation
At the event, which aims to promote trade and investments between Denmark and Latin American countries, Fátima presented the potential for business and investment generation in RN, especially in renewable energy, a sector where the state is a leader in Brazil.
RN utilizes five of the seven energy sources in Brazil, predominantly wind. There are currently a total of 201 parks in operation, 44 under construction, and an additional 77 contracted. According to Fátima, the government is encouraging and working to advance the installation of offshore wind farms in Rio Grande do Norte. Brazil is still not a major offshore producer, a technology that Denmark dominates.

Detailing the investment opportunities for national and foreign companies, Fátima emphasized that RN is creating studies for port infrastructure for hydrogen production, offshore wind, green ammonia, and e-methanol. The installed capacity for these investments totals 11.9 GW. The potential for clean energy generation at sea is estimated at 140 GW, equivalent to ten times that of Itaipu.
Rio Grande Do Norte Is One Of The Brazilian States That Most Encourages The Use Of Renewable Energy

Fátima stated that the government has signed essential agreements with sustainable energy companies with the mission to install and develop the clean energy hub and the hub for production, storage, and export of green ammonia and hydrogen.
Moreover, she highlighted that she wants to strengthen ties between Brazil and Denmark for the exchange of experiences that aid in formulating plans that expand respect for the environment and energy capacity.
The governor also emphasized the creation of the Brazil Verde Consortium, a movement by Brazilian governors concerning the Climate Conference (COP26). Fátima states that this is a clear demonstration by governors to the world and their commitment to defending the environment with actions that result in a lower environmental impact and encourage clean energy sources.
Representatives From Denmark Are Invited To Visit RN
The Potiguar delegation was at the Danish Energy Agency to discuss best practices for the development of new clean energy sources, the development of new sources, and encouragement of the industrial chain.
Fátima invited the agency representatives for a visit to RN for a possible signing of cooperation agreements between the Danish regulatory agency and the State government.
The governor stated that the state is already highly recognized as one of the largest implementers of clean energy generation in the world. Thus, the invitation is for the representatives to understand closely how the investment attraction policy really works and how the state’s parks operate.
