Thinking About Sustainability, The Government Of Maranhão Signed On Tuesday (08) An Agreement For The Delivery Of A Charging Point For Electric Cars And Electric Bicycles From Equatorial Energia In The Region Of São Luís.
The capital of Maranhão, São Luís, will receive a project from the Equatorial Energia Group for electric cars. The partnership between the Government of Maranhão and the company was formalized this Tuesday and promises to engage the population with leisure activities, as electric bicycles provided by Equatorial will be available for public use.

The partnership provides that the Equatorial Group will install a public and free charging station for electric cars, in addition to making electric bicycles available for shared use by the population near Parque do Rangedor.

Equatorial Energia’s Plans For The State Of Maranhão
The novelty of electric bicycles and cars is an initiative of the Equatorial Group through the Research and Development (P&D) Program. The project is scheduled to be installed in November this year and, in addition to Equatorial Energia, involves investments from 9 other companies in the energy sector. The charging station for electric cars and the bicycle station will be installed at Parque do Rangedor in the capital of Maranhão.
The goal is to analyze the use of electric cars by the community in relation to the current mobility scenario. In addition to the bicycles, an electric car will be donated to the Government Secretariat (SEGOV) to monitor public parks in Maranhão, especially where the project will be operating.
Other States Covered By The Equatorial Energia Project
On May 26, through the Municipal Secretary of the Environment and Water Resources, the Equatorial Group from Piauí and the City of Teresina Signed An Agreement Making A Charging Project For Electric Cars Viable.
The project, like that of Maranhão, includes one electric car and ten electric bicycles. The electric car given to Teresina will be used in the police fleet, and the bicycles will be for the leisure of the residents of Parque da Cidadania.
It is worth noting that the stations provided are for charging, in addition to the electric car provided by Equatorial Energia, the electric cars of visitors to the site.
