R$ 4.5 million will be allocated for the physical work and an additional R$ 2.5 million for the purchase of cutting-edge equipment.
The unit will be established on a centrally located plot of land owned by the city hall, covering an area of over 800 m², with an expected delivery time of up to two years.
The structure will be aimed at providing low and medium complexity care, operating continuously, 24 hours a day.
The population will benefit from essential services such as triage, medical consultations, emergency rooms, suturing, medication administration, diagnostic support, and exams.
The expectation is that the new facility will significantly strengthen the municipal network of urgent and emergency care.
State and Municipal Authorities Support the Initiative
The announcement in Curitiba brought together various authorities, including the mayor of Jandaia do Sul, Ditão Pupio (MDB), the vice-mayor Inei Heckert (MDB), the Secretary of Cities Guto Silva, the Chief of the Civil House João Carlos Ortega, the Deputy Chief Lúcio Mauro Tasso, the Secretary of Agriculture Márcio Nunes, and the Director of the Legal Department of Jandaia do Sul, Maria José Heckert.
During the event, Secretary Beto Preto emphasized the importance of the construction of the new Emergency Care Unit:
“This new Emergency Care Unit will be a regional reference, with first-class structure, expanding access to health and providing dignified care to our population,” he stated.
Mayor Ditão Pupio also celebrated the achievement and highlighted the importance of the work for the residents:
“This announcement comes at a good time for the city’s recovery, especially since it’s a fully equipped new structure. We thank the governor and the secretary for their trust in our city, which really needs a new Emergency Care Unit for our population,” he said.
Revitalization of the Current Emergency Care Unit and Restructuring of the Health Network
In addition to the new unit, the City Hall of Jandaia do Sul plans to renovate the current Municipal Emergency Care Unit (PAM) with its own resources.
The proposal is to transform the old building into the new Municipal Health Department, centralizing various services in one location. A new bidding process will be launched soon to enable this renovation.
“Our old PAM was supposed to be finished; we left it bid during the previous administration, but it wasn’t done. We are now taking over the stalled work, and very little has been done. We are planning a new bidding process to transform the building into the Health Department and centralize everything,” the mayor explained.
The initiative by the Government of Paraná, in partnership with the municipality, in the construction of the new 24-hour Emergency Care Unit demonstrates a commitment to the well-being of the population, ensuring more access, quality, and dignity in medical care.
