GranBio Is The Operator Of The First Commercial-Scale Cellulosic Ethanol Plant In The Southern Hemisphere And Is Located In Alagoas
The Brazilian industrial biotechnology company, GranBio, announced on Friday the hiring of several biorefinery facilities in the U.S., as well as a research and development (R&D) center and other assets. More specifically, GranBio has completed the acquisition of American Process Inc and several affiliated companies, such as AVAPCO LLC and API Intellectual Properties Holdings, for an undisclosed amount.
The transaction covers the Alpena Biorefinery in Michigan, the Thomaston Biorefinery, and the R&D center in Georgia, as well as the operations, research, and business development teams. Additionally, GranBio acquired the intellectual property (IP) portfolio in the fields of biorefinery, biofuels, biochemicals, and nanocellulose, with over 200 granted and pending patents.
