Truck Drivers Joined the Strike Partially and Are Not Causing Traffic Disruption
Some of the associations representing truck drivers during the strike called for the category to halt their activities to pressure the federal and state governments to meet their demands, among which are the effective implementation of the freight floor and the reduction of diesel prices, but traffic is still normal at the moment. The movement, however, did not have the support of the vast majority of professionals.

Little Movement During the Truck Drivers’ Strike
The truck drivers’ strike scheduled for this Monday (1) had little adherence throughout the country. Called by entities representing the category to pressure the Bolsonaro Government to meet some demands, such as reducing diesel prices and monitoring the freight floor, the stoppage did not have the support of most professionals, much to the relief of the Planalto, which sees the category as an ally of its administration.
The Ministry of Infrastructure and the Federal Highway Police, which monitored the movement, reported few acts and problems on federal highways.

Partial Blockades
Brief partial blockades occurred in some locations, such as, for example, on a stretch of BR-304 near Mossoró in Rio Grande do Norte. According to the Ministry of Infrastructure, a group of protesters blocked part of the roadway for about an hour, requiring the intervention of federal highway police to unblock it.
In São Paulo, truck drivers interrupted the flow of two lanes on the Castello Branco Highway in the early morning at Barueri, protesting against the governor of São Paulo, João Doria.
In addition to the reduction of the PIS/Cofins tax on diesel and an increase in the minimum freight floor table, truck drivers demanded a reduction in the ICMS, a state tax on fuel, and also the reduction of state toll fees and improvements to state roads.
