What’s so special about this little Brazilian town to receive R$ 25 billion for a cellulose megafactory and have more people working than inhabitants?
The state has significant potential for electricity generation from renewable sources. Renewable energies transform landscapes, economies, and create jobs and income for various municipalities in Bahia. The SDE provides institutional support and monitoring from Enel, from its intention to establish itself to its construction, offering all the necessary support at every stage of the process.
Modernization of Enel’s Solar Plant Will Be Completed in 2023
According to Jean Philippe Salvatore, Business Development Director of Enel Green Power in Brazil, the modernization of the solar plant in Bahia will involve replacing the original inverters with newer and more efficient ones.
According to the director, this replacement will occur in the coming months, before the beginning of next year, and the expectation is that the productivity of the solar plant will be increased following this change. The estimate is that the solar power plant update will be completed in the first quarter of next year. Currently, Bahia has 41 solar power plants in operation, with 1.3 GW of installed capacity. Eight cities in the state benefit from the generation of these plants.
They are: Barreiras, Casa Nova, Bom Jesus da Lapa, Guanambi, Juazeiro, Itaguaçu da Bahia, Oliveira dos Brejinhos, and Tabocas do Brejo Velho. Another 180 parks are under construction or have construction planned. When fully operational, the state will reach 8.3 GW of installed capacity, according to data from the Solar Energy Executive Report generated by the SDE.
Enel Partners with Ferrari
Enel X, the group’s innovative business line, recently announced a partnership with Ferrari, one of the leading brands in the global luxury sector. The agreement was made for the construction of a photovoltaic solar plant at the Prancing Horse headquarters in Italy.
The unit will feature over 3,800 solar panels installed, generating a maximum power of 1,535 kWp. The Enel system will supply part of the energy consumption of various units at the automaker’s headquarters. In addition, Enel will deliver an innovative project in terms of design and technology, tailored for the company.
The solar energy system will allow the company’s electric and hybrid cars to be charged through the solar plant built by Enel X. The performance will be monitored by Enel X’s Energy Management System, which will be responsible for displaying real-time data on an LCD screen in the infrastructure.
