Honda Partnered With MUJI to Develop an Affordable Electric Scooter That Offers a Range of 65 Km. The Vehicle Also Features Pedals for Cyclists and Other Technologies.
Honda has formed a new partnership with the Japanese retailer MUJI for the development of an electric scooter. The result of the collaboration between the companies is the MS01, which combines a modern look, minimalist elements, and a black-and-white finish. The Japanese automaker took special care of the vehicle’s motorization, while bicycle designer Kenya Hara, who is also the artistic director at MUJI, was responsible for the scooter’s visual design.
Honda Electric Scooter Can Reach 25 Km/h
The designer was inspired by the company’s H-type bicycle and other minimalist style innovations. The electric scooter is accompanied by two pedals and is named MS01, being surprisingly straightforward.
Initially, its body has a U shape, and its small bicycle pedals provide easy access for cyclists of all sizes. Additionally, Honda’s electric vehicle features a traditional handlebar with basic functions designed to keep costs low and operation simple.

Hyundai sells a “sporty compact SUV” cheaper than Jeep Renegade, Volkswagen T-Cross, and Honda HR-V in Brazil; for about R$ 56,000 in conversion without taxes, the Venue N Line has a 1.0 turbo engine with 120 PS, manual or DCT transmission, dual exhaust, level 2 ADAS, 6 airbags, and a sports package that Hyundai sells in India but does not offer to Brazilians.

New Brazilian Fiat Fastback with a hybrid flex engine of up to 180 hp and a range of over 1,000 km will give rise to the new “affordable” Chrysler SUV in the US, in a project aiming to increase the brand’s sales to 225,000 cars by 2030.
It’s important to note that the electric scooter does not have any additional functionality beyond that of a standard electric bicycle. The 17-inch (43.18 cm) tubeless tires are used to handle all types of road driving, and the overall design incorporates the subtleties found in various Honda vehicles. The 400 W motor equipped in the electric scooter allows it to reach a maximum speed of 25 km per hour, which is equivalent to 16 miles (25.75 km) per hour.
Honda Electric Scooter Offers 65 Km of Range
The electric model from the multinational also features a regenerative energy system EBS and a 48V/20Ah lithium battery, which provides a range of 65 kilometers, equivalent to 41 miles (65.98 km), on a single charge.
Thus, Honda’s electric scooter only needs to be charged once or twice a week, being able to support hours of pedaling per day, as long as the rider limits their trips and movements within the city.
The vehicle from the companies will, for now, only be sold in China and will be produced in a limited quantity of 5,000 units. The estimated price for each Honda electric scooter is about 4,980 CNY, equivalent to US$ 744.
Unfortunately, Honda and Muji are still not exporting the scooter to other markets in the world at this very low price. With its cutting-edge and simple style, it would be an attractive alternative to existing electric bicycle and scooter models on the market.
Bugatti Also Announces an Affordable Electric Scooter
Bugatti is one of the most exclusive and expensive vehicle manufacturers in the market. The automaker has some of the fastest and most technologically advanced vehicles in the world. This time, the company has a vehicle that costs less than US$ 1,000.
Bugatti recently worked with Bytech, a developer of electric scooters. The two companies developed a new electric scooter with a colorway and style similar to that of the French supercar manufacturer.
The Bugatti scooter is being sold for US$ 919.99 only in black, however, to purchase it in the classic Bugatti blue colorway, it must be bought from the official store, where it is sold for US$ 1,200.
The vehicle can reach a maximum speed of 18.5 miles (29.77 km) in sport mode. However, it is possible to gain even more range by putting the vehicle in city mode, where the maximum speed is limited to just 9 miles (14.48 km).
