Honda has revamped its entire vehicle catalog for Brazil. The changes began with the discontinuation of the Fit and the national Civic for the arrival of the City family with Hatch and Sedan options. Next are the new HRV, Civic Accord, and ZRV. The manufacturer will soon also offer the CRV for those who don’t know.

But it doesn’t stop there; Honda is preparing a significant launch for our market, which is the arrival of a new SUV that is slightly smaller than the HRV, ready to compete with the Fiat Pulse, Renault Kardian, Volkswagen Nivos, T Cross, Jeep Renegade, among others.

Honda Resurrects WRV In Brazil As A Weapon Against The Toyota Yaris Cross

Breaking news! The Honda WRV, an incredibly interesting car that ceased production back in the day, is now making a comeback with the same name. That’s right, this classic will be resurrected in Brazil as a weapon against the Toyota Yaris Cross, because it has basically the same dimensions as the Yaris Cross, and a very low fuel consumption, not to mention that the price Honda promises for this car is quite attractive to compete with the Toyota Yaris Cross.

The car’s design is quite different from what we saw in the old WRV and nothing like the current models. No bold visuals here; the compact SUV has a more conservative look. The front features a large grille and the headlights are sharper. The rear somewhat resembles the HRV and ZRV SUVs due to the layout of the taillights.

The good news is that these more conventional lines can significantly help with interior space, especially for headroom of the rear seat occupants.

Arriving In Brazil, The New Honda Is Expected To Share Parts With The City Family

Honda vehicles usually share the same internal design standard; City, HRV, and Civic demonstrate this, but the Elevate WRV is a bit different, featuring a steering wheel with different buttons and a front panel with a different layout.

The new Honda arriving in Brazil is expected to share parts with the City family, which is why it will have a different interior from other markets, more aligned with domestic products.

Honda WRH Features A 1.5 Naturally Aspirated Gasoline Engine With 122 Horsepower And 14.8 Kg Of Torque

Its dimensions: it measures 4.32 meters in length, 1.790 meters in width, 1.650 meters in height, and has a 2.650-meter wheelbase; it’s quite spacious inside! For reference, it’s slightly smaller than the HRV by 7 cm but has a slightly larger wheelbase, so when you’re inside this car, you’ll feel like you’re in a higher standard and very comfortable vehicle.

In markets where the SUV is already sold, it consistently features a 1.5 naturally aspirated gasoline engine with 122 horsepower and 14.8 kg of torque. In Brazil, it will likely have a Flex system similar to the City with a 1.5 engine that delivers 126 horsepower on gasoline or ethanol, and the transmission is always CVT with simulated gear shifts.

WRV Consumes Like Some Hybrid Cars Such As The Toyota Corolla Cross Hybrid

According to Indian measurement standards, Honda’s SUV has an average consumption of 15.3 km/l with a manual transmission and 17 km/l with an automatic transmission; in other words, it consumes like some hybrid cars such as the Toyota Corolla Cross hybrid, with fuel economy in the city ranging between 17 km/l and 19 km/l.

Honda’s car is neither hybrid nor electric but has a fuel consumption very similar to that of a Corolla Cross, which will prompt competitors to take notice.

The Price Of The New WRV Coming To Compete With The Toyota Yaris Is Expected To Be Similar To The Prices Of The Pulse, Kardian, Nivus, T Cross, And Jeep Renegade

Now, the price of the new WRV is expected to be somewhat similar to the prices of the Pulse, Kardian, Nivus, T Cross, and Jeep Renegade. Just to give you an idea, this car should arrive starting at R$ 100,000 and go up to about R$ 140,000.

Remembering that it is slightly below the WRV; it is a car that will compete directly with the Toyota Yaris Cross, so the price must be a bit lower while offering a lot.

There’s a little surprise: the new Honda WRV features adaptive cruise control, a 360º camera, and is a car that also corrects its lane automatically. It will have several versions, making it a very interesting car that will soon arrive at dealerships here in Brazil.

A Honda errou **** ao parar de produzir o civic no Brasil. Outro erro foi a mudança do modelo civic. O último é muito mais **** e muito mais caro. Poderia ter lançado esse e mantido a linha civic do jeito q estava. Se tivesse feito isso, eu ja teria pego um 23 ou 24. Meu civic 2020 faz uma média de 14,5 km/l com o trânsito bom. Na estrada já cheguei a 23 km/l. Resultado: quem é fã de sedan tipo civic migrou para o Corolla. Eu mesmo, quando for trocar de carro, vou para a Toyota, pegar um corolla. Quem curte civic não pega o City, que mais parece um voyage, um onix melhorado…. se não rever essa decisão, vai continuar sendo jantada pela Toyota.
