MTR BESS Offers Energy Autonomy for Agriculture, Combining Solar Plants and Local Microgrids for Greater Efficiency and Water Safety.

MTR BESS is revolutionizing the agricultural sector by providing advanced solutions for the sustainable use of energy. By integrating modern technologies, the company combines the use of solar plants with innovative microgrids, ensuring not only efficiency but also greater resilience for field activities. This integration allows for more effective resource management, ensuring consistent production and minimizing environmental impacts. With this strategy, agriculture not only modernizes but also adapts intelligently to current energy challenges.

This intelligent combination of solar energy generation and advanced microgrids strengthens the production chain by providing a robust and efficient solution. The approach adopted by MTR BESS not only promotes energy autonomy, but also protects against fluctuations in electricity supply. With the mix of solar plants and hybrid inverters, the available power becomes more reliable, reducing the risk of losses and unwanted outages. Thus, agriculture can develop with greater safety, enhancing its competitive capacity.

Advances in Local Microgrids for Agriculture

MTR BESS is at the forefront of solutions for local microgrids, promoting an impressive 50% increase in profits for crops like beans when irrigated, compared to production in non-irrigated areas. In an area of 100 hectares, the potential profit can reach R$ 1.225 million, contrasting with only R$ 637 thousand without irrigation, a difference of R$ 587 thousand, highlighting the revolutionary impact of energy in the field.

Innovation and Sustainability in the Energy Sector

On October 31, 2024, Brazil witnessed an advance in the energy sector led by Grupo MTR Solar with its ‘Vertical Agro’ initiative. The introduction of the MTR BESS, a Battery Energy Storage System, transformed agribusiness, offering energy autonomy. Developed in collaboration with GoodWe, this hybrid system innovates by integrating electricity from solar sources with powerful inverters, reducing farmers’ operational costs, especially in labor-intensive processes like irrigation.

The significant savings of up to 70% in irrigation costs compared to the exclusive use of diesel generators is one of the major attractions of this solution. In addition to financial benefits, the MTR BESS advances sustainability by reducing the emission of pollutants and supporting the responsible use of natural resources. The most notable applications include irrigation pivots, which represent 90% of the demand in the sector, allowing farmers to increase their competitiveness and adopt sustainable agricultural practices. The ability to produce and store their own energy provides farmers with greater control over their costs.

Commitment to Energy Efficiency

MTR Solar, with a manufacturing park of over 30,000 m² in Juiz de Fora/MG and a history of 4 GWp installed, demonstrates its commitment to innovation and energy efficiency by assisting its agribusiness partners. This commitment enables more sustainable and profitable production. The partnership with GoodWe is not only an evolution in the offering of energy solutions but also a vital step toward a greener future in the agricultural sector.

The CEO of MTR, Thiago Rios, explains that the new solution ensures a secure supply of renewable and clean energy for all agricultural processes while promoting powerful energy autonomy. With events aimed at agricultural areas, MTR Solar shows producers how to reduce energy costs while enhancing their production safely.

The Essential Role of Energy in Agribusiness

The energy independence provided by this system is crucial. It reduces reliance on unstable electrical grids and mitigates risks of interruptions that could impact agricultural activities. This represents a significant advance toward sustainability in the sector, favoring agro-industrial productivity. Brazilian agribusiness maintains vital global importance, especially in the export of commodities like soy and corn. Nonetheless, it faces challenges due to limitations in water and energy infrastructure.

In the U.S., for example, irrigation is an essential tool to enhance productivity, boosting yields by up to 30%. Brazil, for its part, is still working to fully explore its potential in this regard. MTR BESS promotes solutions for energy autonomy and water safety, positioning itself in global competition and optimizing production.

Impact of Energized Irrigation in Agriculture

By incorporating solar energy storage systems, irrigation provides water security and a remarkable boost in agricultural productivity. The technology from MTR BESS promotes efficiencies that allow farmers to achieve solid profits, demonstrating the importance of energy solutions in agricultural production.

For example, studies indicate that adverse weather events are delaying harvests and compromising production, but the combination of energy storage technologies and irrigation mitigates such challenges. MTR BESS stands out as a leader in this transformation, offering technologies that not only meet production needs but also reduce costs, promoting sustainable solutions in the agribusiness market. These innovations are crucial for Brazil to maintain its global leadership in the agricultural sector.

The ‘Energy Revolution in Agriculture’ Roadshow, promoted by MTR BESS in Cuiabá/MT, exemplifies the commitment to innovations in the field of energy.
