The Free Online Course by USP is Open to All of Brazil and Will Be Offered in Two Modalities
The selection process for the regular class and basic cycle of the pre-university course at the Polytechnic School of the University of São Paulo (USP) is now open for enrollment. Both modalities will have online classes (EAD), allowing candidates from all over Brazil to apply. In total, 185 spots will be available.

The deadline to enroll in the regular class is until February 9, and for the basic cycle, the deadline is until February 16. The enrollment fee for both modalities is R$ 15.00. Check out the differences between them.
Regular Class – EAD and In-Person
This is intended for students who have already graduated from high school or are in their final year. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the USP EAD course classes will take place in two ways: in-person, with a limit of 25 spots, and online with another 80 spots. The course will be held from 6:00 PM to 10:55 PM.

The first phase of the selection process will be conducted online on February 12 and 13. It will consist of a multiple-choice exam with 40 questions on the content taught in regular high school.
In the second phase, video calls will be held to evaluate the socioeconomic data provided and the commitment of the applicants. To enroll, it is necessary to pay two installments of R$ 100.00, and classes will start on March 21.
Basic Cycle Class – EAD
This class is aimed at addressing the gap for those who wish to resume their studies or for students who are in the second year of high school. It is a gradual preparation for the entrance exam, to reinforce academic knowledge, according to the Poli USP course.
This cycle has 80 spots available for the course that will be 100% EAD. Classes will take place from 5:00 PM to 9:55 PM, starting on March 23. To enroll, the candidate must pay a fee of R$ 100.00.
The selection process for the USP EAD course in the basic cycle will also be divided into two phases: in the first phase, a multiple-choice exam will be given with 30 questions from Portuguese and mathematics, covering content taught in high school. Additionally, candidates will need to write an essay. The exam will take place on February 19 and 22.
Candidates approved in the first phase will undergo a socioeconomic interview via video call with the coordinators of the USP EAD course to verify the provided data and assess the level of commitment.
