Mercado Livre Offers More Than 1500 Scholarships for Technology Course. A Percentage of the Slots Will Prioritize Women, Non-Binary People, Black Individuals, and Former Public School Students

Mercado Livre, the e-commerce giant, will provide 1500 full scholarships for the Immersion in Introduction to Programming and Immersion in UX/UI Design courses, developed in partnership with Cubos Academy. The free courses aim to support young people in technology and reduce gender inequality in the sector. The spots are limited, secure yours now!

In Brazil, which has the largest deficit among 10 assessments of Latin countries, it is estimated that by 2024, over 300,000 professionals in the technology field will be needed.

By democratizing access to education in technology, Cubos Academy and Mercado Livre not only provide transformative opportunities but also contribute to building a more inclusive and diverse technology – IT sector. These scholarships are not just a gateway to knowledge but also to a vibrant and equitable tech community.

Immersion in UX/UI Design: This immersion is for those who want to learn more about a career in technology in UX/UI Design and discover if this is a field you would like to work in! During the immersion, fundamental concepts and practices of user experience design in digital products will be presented. To give you a taste of what it’s like to work in UX/UI, the immersion will combine sessions of rich learning with the pedagogical team and hands-on sessions focused entirely on practice so you can get your hands dirty and experience a day in the life of a UX Designer. By the end of the immersion, you will have the opportunity to research and propose improvements to an existing digital product, consolidating all the theoretical knowledge you gained throughout the sessions. Furthermore, aspects such as ethics in technology and socio-emotional skills for the workplace will be addressed.

Immersion in Introduction to Programming: This immersion is for those who want to learn more about a technology and programming career and discover if this is a field you would like to work in! There will be introductory content about programming, so you can understand the daily life of a programmer. To give you a taste of what it’s like to work in programming, at the end of the immersion, you will have the opportunity to apply the knowledge you’ve gained in a practical project, consolidating the theoretical knowledge you acquired. Additionally, aspects such as ethics in technology and socio-emotional skills for the workplace will be worked on.

Requirements to Compete for Mercado Livre Scholarships: spots are limited. To enroll in the courses, you must be between 16 and 18 years old and have a willingness to learn. It is important to note that prior knowledge in areas of study is not required, as Cubos Academy provides all the necessary support to start studying IT from scratch.

The course will last four weeks. Classes will begin on January 8 and will take place on Tuesdays, Wednesdays (career), and Thursdays from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM.
