Who Will Be Affected by Microsoft’s New Policy?
The change will directly impact most of Microsoft’s 125,000 employees in the United States, as a large portion lives within the 80 km radius of the Redmond campus.
For these employees, physical presence will be mandatory for at least three days a week.
In specific cases, the requirement may increase to four or even five days. On the other hand, there are still no details about changes to the work regime for employees living in other countries.
Campus Renovation and Employee Concerns
Microsoft’s decision to limit remote work has raised concerns among employees.
Some fear facing issues with traffic and commuting, while others point to the lack of physical space as a challenge.
To address these issues, the company is undertaking a major renovation of its campus. However, there is still no timeline for completion of the construction, which increases anxiety among employees.
