MRS Logística Accelerates Construction in Pindamonhangaba with More Than R$30 Million in Investments, Including a Viaduct, Walkway and Maneuvering Yard.
The city of Pindamonhangaba, in the interior of São Paulo state, is experiencing a new cycle of urban and economic transformation. MRS Logística confirmed that it will complete an investment package worth over R$30 million by August, resulting from the renewal of its contract with the National Land Transportation Agency (ANTT). The funds are being invested in major railway infrastructure projects, such as a new viaduct, a shunting yard, and a pedestrian walkway.
Viaduct on Avenida Estrutural Is MRS Logística’s Largest Investment
The projects were presented to Mayor Ricardo Piorino during a recent meeting with representatives from MRS Logística, including the Manager of Institutional Relations Daniel Martins and Specialist Grazi Ribeiro.
The company emphasized the physical progress of the works and reaffirmed its commitment to urban mobility and regional development.

China completes the world’s largest diameter underwater tunnel under the Yellow River: 17.5 meters in diameter, two levels, six lanes, and a 163-meter TBM named Shanhe.
Among MRS Logística’s main investments, the highlight is the construction of a viaduct on Avenida Estrutural, valued at R$ 13.8 million.
The structure connects the SP-62 highway to the Feital neighborhood in the Industrial District, creating a new route for drainage and mobility for the city.
The work includes two lanes in each direction, a bike lane, accessible sidewalks, ramps, LED lighting, and complete signage.
The avenue is the largest roadway work ever carried out with the city’s own resources and has, in this initial phase, a length of 2.5 kilometers and two roundabouts.
The completion of the viaduct over the tracks marks a crucial advance in reducing bottlenecks in local traffic.
Maneuvering Yard Is Relocated to Reduce Impact in the Center
Another major project from MRS Logística is the transfer of the railway maneuvering yard to the Araretama neighborhood.
With this change, the barriers on Campos Sales, Frederico Machado, and Voluntário Vitoriano Borges streets will no longer need to be activated for long periods.
Trains will pass more smoothly, minimizing the wait time for drivers.
In the new section, an 1,800-meter branch is being implemented, parallel to the existing line, to allow trains to stop without compromising urban mobility.
The work should also contribute to the organization of railway logistics and greater safety around the tracks.
Pedestrian Walkway in Araretama Ensures Safe Crossing
In addition to works aimed at vehicles, MRS Logística has invested R$ 7 million in the construction of a new walkway in the Araretama neighborhood.
The structure is equipped with access ramps, stairs, lateral protection, and a lighting system, providing a safe crossing for pedestrians.
According to Mayor Ricardo Piorino, the walkway directly benefits thousands of residents.
“The walkway becomes a safe and suitable path for crossing during train passage. The new maneuvering yard will significantly reduce wait times in traffic,” the mayor emphasized.
Automated Barriers Bring More Safety to the Population
The modernization of railway barriers is also in its final phase. On Dr. Campos Sales, Frederico Machado, and Vol. Vitoriano Borges streets, old manual structures are being replaced by automated systems, equipped with sensors, sound signals, and signaling signs.
This investment reinforces MRS Logística’s commitment to the safety of the population and to the fluency of urban traffic.
The use of technology at crossings is essential to avoid accidents and ensure more predictability in movements.
Protection Wall Reinforces Safety Along the Railway
To prevent unauthorized invasions and increase safety around the tracks, MRS Logística is building 7 kilometers of protection wall in still unprotected sections.
In locations with official crossings, the fencing will be mixed: with a wall at the base and wire mesh at the top, ensuring visibility and safety.
This preventive measure aims to reduce risks, especially in residential areas near the railway. The company emphasized that the initiative is part of a package of investments focused on operational safety.
Ongoing Requests and Political Support Have Been Fundamental
During the meeting with MRS Logística, the mayor of Pindamonhangaba also requested ANTT to formalize a new pedestrian crossing in the Laerte Assumpção neighborhood, next to the Romagnole company. The request is under analysis by the regulatory agency.
Piorino took the opportunity to thank Federal Deputy Márcio Alvino, who worked directly to enable improvements with the federal government.
“These achievements started during the administration of former Mayor Dr. Isael and, with the support of Deputy Márcio Alvino, we managed to make important investments that drive the city’s growth a reality,” he stated.
MRS Logística Investments Accelerate Urban Growth
The more than R$30 million invested by MRS Logística in Pindamonhangaba marks a turning point in the municipality’s urban infrastructure.
With modern projects focused on integrating neighborhoods, the city is moving toward a future with greater safety, mobility, and economic development.
MRS Logística’s work reaffirms the role of the railway sector as an agent of urban transformation, while also contributing to the modernization of logistics along the São Paulo–Rio de Janeiro axis.
