Maverick Pickup Will Arrive in Brazil by 2022
The executive of the multinational Ford, which now has its headquarters in São Paulo, states that the mid-size pickup, which is produced in Mexico, will arrive next year, but the date is yet to be determined. Justo also highlighted the qualities of the Maverick, which should focus on technology, drivability, and dimensions.
The Maverick pickup is larger than the Toro, measuring 5.07 m in length and built on the Bronco Sport platform, meaning it is a unibody. In Brazil, given Ford’s focus on the premium segment, the target must be directed toward the pickup to ensure higher added value and offset the transportation cost from Mexico, quoted in dollars.

Ford States That There Is a Possibility of Bringing the Mustang Mach-E
Justo also spoke about the Transit of electric and hybrid cars, emphasizing connectivity with Ford Pass and other services. The executive even indicated subscription as a means of acquiring cars.
The executive did not comment on which electrified models could arrive in the national market but confirmed that there will be many. Thus, following this logic, he states that there is a great chance of the Mustang Mach-E arriving in the national market, as well as the future Hybrid version of the Bronco Sport.
The Maverick is based on electrification, but it is new territory for Ford in the American market, which may not function as satisfactorily here. There will be no more sedans and compacts in Ford’s portfolio in Brazil.
Executive Does Not Comment on the Situation of Troller
The executive did not want to reveal the fate of Troller, as an industrial property, but states that the multinational Ford respects the customers of the T4 and assures that it will provide all necessary support to the owners after the termination of activities.
Regarding the structure of the multinational in the country, Justo only mentioned 300 engineers hired and the testing ground in Tatuí, not mentioning the Research and Development center in Camaçari, which should remain under the company’s control.
Justo also did not comment on the sale of the closed facilities or even the companies interested in buying. However, he stressed that there is a good stock of parts for the cars that were not built, in a volume greater than the demand, which will reduce the network by 100 dealerships.
