Agreement on Self-Production Between Neoenergia and Nexus Ligas Strengthens the Wind Energy Sector in Brazil, with Participation in the Canoas 3 Park in Paraíba and a Contract Valid for Ten Years.
Neoenergia announced a new agreement with Nexus Ligas for self-production of wind energy, reinforcing its expansion strategy in the renewable sources sector. The contract, valid for ten years, marks Nexus’s entry as a partner in the Canoas 3 generating unit, part of the Neoenergia Chafariz wind complex located in Paraíba.
The operation had already been approved in June by the Administrative Council for Economic Defense (Cade), ensuring release without restrictions. This move represents another significant step in consolidating Neoenergia as one of the leaders in clean energy generation in the country.
High-Capacity Wind Complex with a Focus on Sustainability
With an installed capacity of 471.25 MW, the Neoenergia Chafariz complex has the potential to serve around 1.3 million households per year. The alliance between the two companies aims not only to strengthen the energy infrastructure of the region but also to enhance operational efficiency and supply security for Nexus Ligas.

According to Neoenergia, the self-production model is a strategic alternative that ensures cost predictability and greater energy independence for partner companies. In addition, the cooperation reinforces the company’s commitment to global energy transition and reduction of carbon emissions.
Neoenergia Expands Presence in the Renewable Energy Sector
Founded in 1997 and controlled by the Spanish Iberdrola, Neoenergia operates in the generation, transmission, distribution, and commercialization of electric energy in Brazil. The company already has a robust presence in wind, solar, and hydroelectric projects, establishing itself as one of the main listed companies in the sector on the B3.
During trading on last Thursday (16), Neoenergia’s shares (NEOE3) recorded a slight decline of 0.65%, priced at R$ 27.53, following the stable behavior of the electric sector after a series of highs. Nevertheless, the new agreement was interpreted by the market as a sign of confidence and strengthening in the company’s partnership pipeline.
According to Neoenergia, the alliance with Nexus Ligas represents more than just a simple contract: it is a long-term bet on renewable energies and sustainable practices. The business model adopted, based on self-production and asset sharing, has been gaining traction among large companies looking to reduce costs and align with decarbonization goals.
With the new partnership, Neoenergia reinforces its leading role in the Brazilian wind energy landscape, contributing to the diversification of the energy matrix and regional development in the Northeast.
