Toyota Inaugurates The Construction Of The New Factory In Sorocaba, With A Billion-Dollar Investment That Promises To Boost The Local Economy.

The City Hall of Sorocaba recently participated in the groundbreaking ceremony of the new factory of Toyota do Brasil. This project is part of an investment package totaling R$ 11 billion, announced by the Japanese automaker for Brazil by 2030. The new Toyota factory is an important addition to the city’s industrial park and promises to create jobs and develop the local economy, in addition to strengthening Toyota’s presence in Brazil.

The event was attended by the mayor of Sorocaba, Rodrigo Manga, the first lady Sirlange Frate Maganhato, and the Secretary of Communication, Lucas Pedrozo.

The governor of São Paulo, Tarcísio de Freitas, was also present, demonstrating the government’s support for the new Toyota factory project.

The new factory of Toyota in Sorocaba will be responsible for producing a new hybrid flex compact vehicle, with manufacturing set to begin in 2025.

The new factory will implement an optimized painting process that will not use water in the booth, also reducing CO₂ emissions by 20% by replacing solvents with water-based paints.

This strategy is part of the company’s commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility.

Additionally, Toyota’s unit will have suppliers located just one kilometer away, which will facilitate logistics and reduce truck traffic. This will not only contribute to sustainability but also to the local economic development of the company in Brazil.
