New Generation of Talents Arises with Bracell Bahia’s Young Apprentice Program

Bracell Bahia Launches New Class of Young Apprentice Program at Its Administrative Forest Headquarters Focused on Job Market and Continuous Improvement.

Bracell Bahia has just launched a new class of the Young Apprentice program at its administrative forest headquarters, aiming to prepare young people for the job market. This investment is part of the company’s ongoing commitment to training and qualifying new professionals, providing opportunities and development of essential skills.

Over the course of a year, the apprentices will have the chance to acquire practical and theoretical knowledge that will be applicable in various areas. This company initiative seeks not only market insertion but also the continuous improvement of its practices. Bracell Bahia reaffirms its fundamental role in the community by investing in the future of these young talents.

With the intention of significantly contributing to the training of a new generation of professionals, Bracell Bahia has initiated the concurrent phase of the 2024 edition of the Young Apprentice program. In total, 28 participants began developing activities at the administrative forest headquarters of the company four days a week, while one day is dedicated to learning at the National Service for Industrial Training (Senai) unit, an essential partner of the company in this project. The training will last for 12 months and will also take place at the administrative headquarters in Alagoinhas.

Development in the Job Market

As a result, the young people embark on a valuable experience in the job market, supported by experienced mentors who will share their knowledge and experiences, creating very favorable conditions for the development of these apprentices. From now on, young people will have access to a development track made available for all employees in the forest and industrial areas of Bracell Bahia. This track focuses on aspects such as creativity, originality and initiative; the ability to solve complex problems; resilience, stress tolerance and flexibility; as well as persuasion and negotiation.

When the training cycle comes to an end, each participant will present the activities they developed during the period, the proposed improvements, and discuss the main challenges faced at Bracell Bahia. Maria Clara Santos de Santana, 21, one of the students in the program, works in the Logistics area and reports: ‘It’s definitely worth having this experience, because Bracell is a true game-changer when it comes to forestry activities, and this is highly valued on a resume. Thinking about my future career plan, I believe this learning in the company is essential.’

Selection Process and Commitment

Gustavo de Alcântara, 18, wasted no time enrolling in the selection process. He expresses his enthusiasm: ‘I am very excited because, since I learned about the selection, I’ve dedicated myself a lot to get in. Now I hope to continue at Bracell Bahia. My mother, who works as a nursing technician at the company, has always spoken highly of the company and said I should take advantage of this opportunity, now that I am in.’ Gustavo works in the Environmental and Forest Certifications area.

Carolina Linhares, Human and Organizational Development (DHO) manager at Bracell, emphasizes that in addition to the obvious benefits of experience provided to participants, there are also clear advantages for the company. ‘The Young Apprentice program promotes the continuous improvement of the learning process, enhancing both the team and the business. In addition, it allows Bracell to include people from different backgrounds, experiences, perceptions, and ideas, making the company more diverse. This prepares individuals who align better with the expectations of the business, adhere to the organizational culture, and keep Bracell updated on trends, knowledge, and new technologies’, she asserts.
