USP nursing course focuses on psychoactive substances
Set in a field that demands technical preparation and clinical sensitivity, the course addresses practices related to the care of individuals in contexts involving the use of psychoactive substances.
By increasing the number of vacancies, the university facilitates access to training that directly addresses recurring demands in healthcare, especially in services dealing with mental health and psychosocial care.
According to the institutional description, the central objective is to develop, implement, and provide online training aimed at the qualified education of students, faculty, and professionals in the nursing field.
In this context, the proposal contributes to technical updating and strengthening of care practices that require qualified listening, clinical evaluation, and the definition of therapeutic strategies in daily professional life.
Throughout the course, the content covers everything from introduction to addictions and nursing to topics such as clinical evaluation, communication strategies, psychosocial approaches and brief interventions, and psychopharmacology applied to clinical management.
The program also includes topics focused on nursing consultation in addictions and the singular therapeutic project, elements considered relevant for working in multidisciplinary teams.
USP online course: format, duration, and access
Classified as an outreach course, the training takes place in a fully online format, with workload distributed over twelve months and monitoring through the virtual structure provided by the university.
Within the Apolo system, the 2026 edition is linked to USP’s School of Nursing, which confirms the institutional nature of the offer and organizes information about the schedule, target audience, and documentary requirements.
In addition to free access, the remote format expands the reach of the training, allowing students and professionals from different regions to follow the content without the need for travel.
In this scenario, flexibility tends to favor the participation of those who balance academic or professional routines with other activities, maintaining continuous access to the material throughout the course period.
The large-scale offering also indicates a strategy for disseminating knowledge in an area that demands frequent updating and integration with contemporary healthcare practices.
In practice, the course caters to both those seeking technical in-depth knowledge and those interested in reviewing concepts applied to nursing in contexts of mental health and psychosocial care.
This breadth stems from the combination of the target audience defined by the university and the content structured throughout the modules presented in the official proposal.
Another relevant aspect is the inclusion of the training in USP’s academic system, which ensures institutional organization, clear definition of deadlines, and criteria for certification at the end of the process.
How to register for the free USP course
To participate, it is necessary to register online by May 15, 2026, respecting the deadline established by the university for this edition of the course.
