Are You Tired of the Old Look of the Renault Oroch? The French Brand Has Just Kicked Off Its Most Ambitious Project in the Compact Pickup Segment: The Renault Niagara, Also Known as the New Oroch. The Company’s Bet on Compact Pickup Aims for the Leadership of the Toro.
The announcement was so grand that it attracted even executives directly from France for a global presentation of the model. The new bet from Renault aims to capture a share of a market previously dominated by the Fiat Toro in Brazil.
Expected to arrive in Brazil around 2025, the new pickup will be built on the CMF-B platform, the same used in the Renault Kardia.
The flexibility of this technological base allows the brand to create a pickup with more generous dimensions, with a wheelbase that can reach an impressive 2.90 meters in length.

The Future Is Hybrid: Renault Invests in Sustainability
Another highlight is the possible hybrid engine, which shows that Renault is keeping an eye on sustainability and fuel economy, following a global trend of vehicle electrification.
Although the presented model is a concept and is expected to lose some elements by the time of its final version, the expectation is that the design will follow the same visual line as presented.
It’s worth remembering that something similar happened with the first Oroch, which was presented at the 2014 Auto Show and had a final design quite faithful to the initial concept.
Eight New Models on the Way: Versatile Platform Is Renault’s Bet
The CMF-B platform will not be exclusive to the new Oroch. Renault plans to launch up to eight new models based on this same architecture, which demonstrates the versatility and multiple possibilities that this new base allows.
With the Fiat Toro reigning alone in the compact pickup segment, Renault has a golden opportunity to shake up the market with its new bet.
Oroch Niagara comes with the mission not only to update the brand’s lineup but to challenge the sales leader in the country. Now we have to wait and see if the project will come to fruition and captivate Brazilians. Stay tuned!
