Lambretta, A Classic Brand That Made History Worldwide, Has Just Announced Its New Electric Scooter That Surprises by Delivering Up to 127 Km of Range per Charge.
The year 2023 is proving to be quite dynamic for the electric scooter market. One of the most recent and exciting pieces of news comes from the legendary Italian brand Lambretta. The model in question, named Elettra, evokes a conceptual design, but according to the company, it is about to enter production. This launch signals a significant step for Lambretta in the growing electric vehicle segment.
New Electric Scooter Delivers Up to 127 Km
A prototype was presented at EICMA 2023, the largest motorcycle show in the world held annually in Milan, Italy. Lambretta took advantage of the event to announce more details about the electric scooter. The Italian model is powered by a 4 kW motor with 11 kW peak power and 26.3 kgfm of torque. Its top speed is 110 km/h.

Made from common salt and 50% cheaper than lithium, the new Chinese battery promises a range of 500 km and could revolutionize electric cars starting in 2026.
As with other electric models, other factors can affect the range. On routes with many hills, for example, the range per charge of the new electric scooter will be lower. The new electric scooter weighs about 125 kg and features a pair of 12-inch wheels.
Regarding range, the Lambretta Elettra will have a 4.6 kilowatt-hour lithium battery, which, according to the manufacturer, takes about five and a half hours to charge on a domestic 220-volt outlet. However, the time can be reduced to 36 minutes when using fast charging at a public charging station, according to the manufacturer.
Lambretta Elettra Will Arrive on the Market Soon
Another interesting highlight of the model is the mobile body, which can lift and expose the motor and battery for easy access with the push of a button. The design was the idea of the current president of the brand, Walter Scheffrahn. Although the model has the lines of the classic scooters that became popular worldwide and also in Brazil, the electric Lambretta has a futuristic feel.
The design features full-LED lighting, with turn signals at the end of the handlebars and a seat that appears to float in the air. According to the official announcement from EICMA, the Elettra is expected to soon join Lambretta’s existing range of scooters. Details about pricing and availability have not yet been mentioned by the company.
Discover the History of Lambretta in the Brazilian Market
Lambretta became very popular in the Italian market after the end of World War II. Shortly after, it arrived in Brazil, where it won the hearts of many consumers. The first model was manufactured in 1947 and was called Model A, a 123cc scooter that achieved 33 km per liter. In Brazil, Lambretta was the first national vehicle to be produced in series.
The year was 1955, and production continued until 1960 at the company Lambretta do Brasil S.A. – Indústrias Mecânicas. The company even produced 50,000 units per year in the country. Among the models launched, the highlight was the last one, the LI, with a four-speed gearbox, the most produced in Brazil.
In the 1960s and 1970s, Lambretta do Brasil changed its name to Cia. Industrial Pasco Lambretta and then changed its business name again to Brumana e Pugliese S/A. These were attempts to survive in a market already dominated by brands like Xispa, since 1971.
