The Service Market And The Revitalization Of Mature Oil Fields Are Promising Activities For The Next Year
2019 started with some caution and expectation regarding the economic actions that would be taken with the entry of a new government. Regarding the oil and gas industry, there was a continuation of ANP auctions, which already shows a response toward bringing prospects for the sector and attracting investments. Also note that US$ 6 billion is expected by Petrobras for the decommissioning of offshore platforms by 2024.
The executive from Roxtec, Bruno Galhardo, shared his view on the oil sector for the year 2020 and provided details by considering two activities that will be crucial for heating up the oil industry next year: the service market and the revitalization of mature oil fields.

“With new FPSOs coming online and drilling activity picking up with new contracts, I see a service market entering a warming phase,” said Galhardo.
“Another point that will move the market concerns the revitalization of mature fields and the consolidation of players who have recently come to Brazil to invest in this segment,” he opined.
Bruno also analyzes that the recovery of the Brazilian oil and gas sector should bring benefits to all links in the chain, but he believes that the shipbuilding industry is still absent from this process. For him, policies need to be adopted so that Petrobras and international oil companies start signing contracts for the construction of platforms in Brazil, generating more jobs in the country.
