Toyota's new electric SUV promises to revolutionize the market, offering incredible autonomy and autonomous driving with cutting-edge technology for a unique driving experience.

O Toyota Electric SUV, bZ3C, mid-sized, is about to debut in early 2025 with a bold proposal: to reach up to 630 km of autonomy and incorporate advanced autonomous driving technologies.

Described as the smartest car in the world FAW Toyota, the model promises to impress with cutting-edge features and a design innovator.

Toyota electric SUV design and dimensions

Toyota's electric SUV, the bZ3C, was first unveiled at the Beijing Auto Show, but its essence dates back to the bZ Sport Crossover Concept displayed at the Shanghai Auto Show.

The SUV has space for five occupants and has robust measurements: 4780 mm in length, 1866 mm in width and 1510 mm in height, with a generous wheelbase of 2880 mm.

Externally, buyers will be able to choose between five main colors – black, white, gray, orange and red – with three two-tone paint options, where the area above the windows is black. Internally, the finish can vary between red, black or white, depending on the customer’s preferences.

Advanced technology inside

The cockpit of the Toyota bZ3C is dominated by a XNUMXs infotainment screen. 15,6 inches, capable of supporting over 200 third-party applications.

This system is complemented by technologies that are new to the segment, such as occupant monitoring using AI facial recognition, gesture and voice control, and a virtual assistant. Among the features that stand out are features such as in-car video calls and automatic reminders about children on board.

Despite the sophisticated dashboard, the model does not have a head-up display. Instead, it displays the information on an instrument panel positioned close to the windshield.

Another highlight are the front seats, which can be completely reclined to form, together with the second row, a space for resting.

However, the bZ3C's trunk offers a modest 463 liters of space, enough to accommodate up to four 24-inch suitcases.

Autonomous driving with lidar technology

Atop the windshield, a Lidar unit indicates that the bZ3C is prepared to support cutting-edge autonomous driving.

The model uses a system based on advanced artificial intelligence, promising capabilities such as urban driving, high-speed functions and automatic parking.

This technology is powered by a 200 kW TZ003XS200 electric motor, powered by a lithium-ion phosphate battery from BYD subsidiary FinDreams.

Although the specific battery capacities have not yet been disclosed, it is known that there will be two autonomy versions: one of 550 km and another of 630 km, measured by the CLTC system.

With FAW Toyota facing challenges in standing out in the competitive Chinese market, the bZ3C emerges as a strategic bet. Its distinctive design, combined with advanced technologies and a high-range proposition, could provide the joint venture with the necessary boost to regain relevance in the segment.

The Toyota bZ3C electric SUV is more than just a vehicle; it is a statement of intent from FAW Toyota to redefine standards in technology and sustainability. By combining style, intelligence and performance, the SUV positions itself as an attractive option for consumers seeking innovation without sacrificing practicality.

The launch is scheduled for 2025, and all eyes will be on the impact this SUV can make. Whether it’s its autonomous driving technology or its impressive range, the bZ3C promises to make its mark on the global electric vehicle market.
