A New Step Towards Innovation: Ocyan and UFRJ Bring Intralab to Life
Rio de Janeiro, May 18, 2023 – Ocyan, a renowned oil & gas company, marked the end of the first cycle of its Intralab program, an intrapreneurship platform, with the final pitch conducted by four internal teams. These teams presented innovative solutions focused on improving safety, optimizing knowledge and material management, and closely monitoring the climate actions of suppliers. The closing event took place at Inovateca, located in the Technological Park of UFRJ.
The Intralab Journey: Incubating Ideas, Inspiring Innovation
Founded the previous year, Intralab aims to primarily stimulate the culture of innovation and internal entrepreneurship. “The mission of Intralab is to nurture revolutionary projects from intrapreneurs, foster the culture of innovation, and disseminate tools and work methods throughout Ocyan,” highlighted Patrícia Grabowsky, Executive Manager of Innovation & Digital Transformation at Ocyan.
Participating employees will be encouraged to integrate their innovative ideas into the company’s daily operations, thus increasing the visibility of the creators of those ideas. Additionally, financial incentives will be offered to team members. After the event, all four projects were approved, with one already directed for implementation in the company’s drilling assets.

Ocyan and UFRJ Technological Park: Joining Forces for Innovation
The event also celebrated the beginning of a strategic partnership between Ocyan and the Technological Park of UFRJ. Ocyan has joined the group of companies that support the Park, thus strengthening its ties with the innovation ecosystem in Rio de Janeiro, interacting with startups, hubs, and university laboratories, as well as benefiting from the available technological spaces and prospects.
