The conventional ticket batch was priced at R$ 497, the VIP area reached R$ 1,497, and access to the World Cup alongside him in Alphaville became a target of criticism from his own followers.

Paying almost R$ 1.5 thousand to watch on television a game that was broadcast for free on an open channel. This was the proposal that Pablo Marçal put forward this Friday, June 19, 2026, in Alphaville, Greater São Paulo, for Brazil’s second round in the World Cup. The influencer and former candidate for the Presidency and the Mayor of São Paulo announced on social media an event to watch the Brazil game against Haiti in his company, and he charged for it.

The message he sent to followers was direct: “I’m gathering the crowd to cheer together! Let’s go?”. The detail that didn’t sit well was the price. Those who wanted to be alongside Pablo Marçal during the match needed to buy a ticket ranging from R$ 497 to R$ 1,497, prices that garnered more criticism than support in the comment section.

How much it cost to sit next to him

The sales site offered two entry categories for the event in Alphaville. The cheapest cost about R$ 497, advertised for cash or in twelve installments of R$ 50.44. The most expensive, classified as VIP, reached R$ 1,497. In both tiers, the buyer was entitled to bring a guest, but there was no clear detailing on what differentiated one category from the other.

In practice, what was being sold was the physical presence in the same environment as Pablo Marçal while the ball was in play. No bleachers, pitch, or stadium. The Brazil game in the World Cup would be watched via television broadcast, from the comfort of an enclosed space in Greater São Paulo, with the influencer as the central attraction. The ticket, therefore, did not grant access to the football itself, but rather to the meeting with the public figure.

The contradiction that the followers themselves pointed out

That’s when the account didn’t add up for much of the audience. In the comments, internet users remembered that the same Pablo Marçal who was now selling tickets to watch the Brazil game had previously described football as a waste of time. “Didn’t you always say it was frivolous to watch these things?” questioned a follower. The question summed up the discomfort of those who follow the influencer’s discourse.

Others focused on the financial side of the story. “It’s not easy, is it? Selling one course after another and now selling tickets to watch the game with you? Are you in the red, businessman?” fired another internet user. The repercussion grew quickly, and what was supposed to be a cheering event during the World Cup ended up making headlines due to the charge. In Alphaville, the price spoke louder than the ball.

The game happened and Brazil won by comeback in the lead

While the discussion about the ticket was ongoing on social networks, the National Team did their part on the field. The Brazil game against Haiti, valid for the group stage of the 2026 World Cup, ended 3-0 for the Brazilian team, at the Philadelphia Stadium, in the United States. The victory placed Brazil at the top of Group C, in a calm night for those cheering.

In other words, those who paid from R$ 497 to R$ 1,497 to watch the match alongside Pablo Marçal in Alphaville at least saw the team win. The positive result, however, did not erase the central point of the controversy, which was never the score, but rather the price charged to watch something for free that was already on open network for the whole country. The contrast between the paid event and the free broadcast became even more evident after the final whistle.

Who is Pablo Marçal and why does the name still draw attention

Businessman and content creator, Pablo Marçal built an audience by selling personal development courses and gained national prominence by running for President in 2022 and for Mayor of São Paulo in 2024, when he finished in third place. In March 2026, he left PRTB and joined União Brasil, a move that brought his name back to the center of political news.

The trajectory, however, is surrounded by problems in Electoral Justice. Marçal was declared ineligible for eight years in decisions related to the misuse of social networks in the 2024 campaign, especially for the strategy called the contest of cuts, which awarded money to those who spread excerpts of his content. The appeals are still pending.
