Petrobras Hits New Production Record at Búzios Field in the Santos Basin, Reaching 674,000 Barrels of Oil Per Day
Petrobras informed this Tuesday (14) that the offshore platforms P-74, P-75, P-76, and P-77, located at the Búzios field in the pre-salt layer of the Santos Basin, have achieved new oil production records.

The new production record stands at 674,000 barrels of oil per day (bpd) and 844,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day (net).

The previous record was 664,000 barrels of oil per day (bpd) and 822,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day, reached on June 27, 2020.
The Búzios field was discovered in 2010 and is the largest deepwater oil field in the world. It is located in the central portion of the Santos Basin, about 180 km off the coast of Rio de Janeiro, in water depths of approximately 1,900 m.
“It is a world-class asset, with substantial reserves, low risk, and low extraction costs,” said Petrobras. Búzios started production in April 2018, through the FPSO P-74, with the other units added to the field later on.
Petrobras to Purchase 38 Wet Christmas Trees for the Búzios Field
The Búzios field in the Santos Basin will require 38 Wet Christmas Trees (ANM’s), and Petrobras is preparing the bidding for major companies in the sector to participate in the auction.
The bidding process by Petrobras is expected to take place by the end of the year and will stimulate the sector, not only due to the quantity but also due to the opportunity for companies to develop tools for the operation of this equipment. Read the full article here.
