DOF Subsea Secured A 3-Year Contract With The Libra Consortium And Will Deploy The Skandi Salvador, Supporting Petrobras’ Activities In Deep Waters In The Pre-Salt
Petrobras has closed a three-year contract with DOF Subsea for a Multi-Purpose Support Vessel (MPSV) for the Mero field, part of the Libra block, in the pre-salt of the Santos Basin, which utilizes various floating productions, Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) units. The Libra Consortium plans to use four new FPSOs to produce up to 600,000 barrels of oil per day in the Mero field.

DOF Subsea stated that it will deploy the Skandi Salvador, which will operate two remotely operated vehicles (ROVs) for 24 hours, providing inspection, maintenance, and commissioning services underwater at depths of up to 2,500 m in the pre-salt, including shallow diving services with Oceânica.
DOF Subsea Brazil will be responsible for ROV operations, while Norskan will be responsible for marine operations in the pre-salt of the Campos Basin. Both companies are 100% subsidiaries of DOF ASA.

The Libra Consortium is led by Petrobras – with a 40% stake – in partnership with Shell Brasil (20%); Total (20%), CNODC (10%), and CNOOC Limited (10%). The consortium also includes the participation of the state-owned Pré-Sal Petróleo SA (PPSA) as the administrator of the Production Sharing Contract.
DOF Subsea Offshore Contracts In Brazil
In August, DOF Subsea announced the acquisition of contracts with Petrobras for at least three vessels to carry out flexible pipelines, risers, and inspection of underwater equipment in the Campos Basin, Santos Basin, Marlin Field, and Espírito Santo Basin.
The contracts are worth more than US$ 110 million, with a planned start in the fourth quarter of 2020 and an estimated duration of 550 days.
