Petrobras had already postponed the sale of Gaspetro, and the current deadline for interested companies to qualify ends tomorrow, May 15.
Petrobras is trying to sell its 51 percent stake in Gaspetro, which in turn is a partner in regional natural gas distributors.
This operation involves Mitsui, which holds a 49% stake in the subsidiary, and, in some cases, state governments that own part of the distributors and are divided between those interested in privatization or, conversely, in increasing their share in the companies.
Northeast lawmakers believe they have a preferential right to purchase Gaspetro’s stake in state-owned companies and are interested in exercising this option in some states. by – epbr
