Support Vessels from DOF Are Gradually Renewing Their Contracts with Petrobras and Confirm Increased Offshore Activities
Gradually, the entire DOF fleet has been having its contracts renewed by Petrobras. Now it was the turn of the AHTS vessel Skandi Fluminense. See Other Contracts That DOF Won in Brazil.
The vessel, built in 2007, is an AHTS 18,000 (anchor handling), operated by DOF Subsea, and the contract extension was announced by Petrobras and Norskan, a Brazilian subsidiary of the Norwegian shipping company DOF.
The contract for the AHTS Skandi Fluminense is now extended until September 2020, since the last contract with Petrobras was signed in September 2018.

Other Contracts Won by DOF
It was not for nothing that DOF Was Awarded by Petrobras on March 29 of This Year as One of Its Best Suppliers in the market in 2018.
In June, the Skandi Hav vessel owned by DOF had its contract extended once again by Petrobras to provide support for offshore services, completing 10 years of supporting offshore operations.
Also in June of this year, the Skandi Botafogo vessel, of the AHTS class, had its contract renewed for another year.
Confirming the growth in demand for this type of vessel in Brazil due to increased offshore activity, recent studies conducted by the Secretary of Economic Development of Rio de Janeiro, presented during the Nor-Shipping 2019 fair in Oslo, Norway, indicate a very optimistic outlook for the national shipbuilding industry after 5 years of crisis.
The Study Indicates a Need for 270 New Vessels to Support Exploration and Production Activities by 2030.
