More Than 50,000 Barrels of Oil and 4 Million Cubic Meters of Gas Begin Processing
[supsystic-social-sharing id=’1′]Petrobras and its partners Shell, Total, CNPC, and CNOOC started production in the Libra block, in the pre-salt layer of the Santos Basin, on Sunday (11/26/2017), with the operation of the FPSO Pioneiro de Libra (floating unit that produces, stores, and transfers oil), dedicated to Long-Duration Testing and Early Production Systems. This is Petrobras’s first unit equipped to inject all the gas produced during the tests. So far, 12 wells have been drilled in the Libra block. Due to its magnitude, production potential, good oil quality, and high commercial value, Libra opens a new business opportunity in the offshore industry.
The Pioneiro de Libra has the capacity to process up to 50,000 barrels of oil and 4 million cubic meters of associated gas daily. With an expected duration of one year, the Long-Duration Test aims to evaluate the behavior of the oil reservoir and enhance knowledge of the field’s characteristics.
Remember that starting in 2018, the process of acquiring platforms for pre-salt production begins; even Jornal Nacional did a report on this topic last week. Twenty offshore units will arrive in Brazil, generating about 500,000 jobs throughout the oil production chain, both directly and indirectly. Check out the Jornal Nacional report here. Source: TNT
