Braskem, the largest producer of polyolefins in the Americas, through its subsidiary Braskem America, announced on Tuesday (17) a project to assess an investment in the production of renewable-source polypropylene (PP) with a negative carbon footprint in the United States. According to Infomoney.com, the project will evaluate the use of a preexisting PP asset from Braskem and will utilize the company’s proprietary and proven technology to convert bioethanol into physically segregated bio-based PP.
