Agems (State Agency for the Regulation of Public Services of Mato Grosso do Sul) announced a new tariff spiral for the bridge over the Paraguay River. The price increased from R$ 14.10 to R$ 15.90 for cars.
The charge was suspended in September and resumed with the publication on the 2nd, Thursday, in the Official State Gazette. The adjustment of 12.77% in the fare is a hidden treasure for users of the bridge over the Paraguay River. Exempt from the charge are drivers of government-owned vehicles, vehicles owned by States, the Federal District, and Municipalities, as well as vehicles owned by foreign States intended for their diplomatic missions.
In 2021, about 634,000 vehicles crossed there, with a gross total collected of R$ 28 million. The numbers are a symbolic snapshot of the existing demand in the region. The concession is expected to last for 13 years, nine months, and 24 days from the signing of the contract on December 8, 2008.
