Itapoá Is The Fourth Port In Brazil In Container Cargo Movement And Invests R$ 120 Million In Technology
The private use terminal (TUP) Porto Itapoá is one of the sponsors of this year’s Logistique – Logistics, Multimodal Cargo Transport, International Trade, Technology, and Intralogistics Fair. The fair takes place from August 22 to 24 in Joinville, Santa Catarina, and the event is considered one of the largest and most important in the logistics sector in Brazil.
“Logistique has established its position among the most important logistics events in Santa Catarina and Brazil. In all its editions, the main players in the segment have gathered to share experiences and innovations and to network. It is a great satisfaction to have Porto Itapoá as a sponsor, which shows our interest and enthusiasm in further promoting the market in our region,” says the president of Porto Itapoá, Cássio José Schreiner.
Porto Itapoá completed 12 years of operations in July and has been recording consecutive movement records. Its operations grew 18% in the first half of this year compared to the same period last year, and its strategic position among the most productive regions in Brazil [alongside importers and exporters from various business segments] ensures excellent future prospects.

While the US Navy still relied for decades on the subsonic Harpoon and Tomahawk missiles for naval combat, the US Air Force reactivated the AGM-183A ARRW program on May 12, 2026, in an anti-ship version capable of making a Nimitz-class aircraft carrier disappear in minutes.
The private terminal is located on the North Coast of Santa Catarina and is considered one of the fastest, most efficient, and sustainable in Latin America. It ranks fourth in the national ranking for container cargo movement.
The injection of R$ 750 million will enable the TUP to operate with an area for cargo storage and movement of 450 thousand square meters. Last year, the terminal expanded its operational area by 50 thousand m², increasing the static capacity to up to 22 thousand containers. Additionally, the port is investing another R$ 120 million in the acquisition of new equipment, including ten new RTGs [which are rubber-tired gantry cranes] operated by remote control, making Porto Itapoá a pioneer in Latin America in this type of operation.
