Second Proposal: Promote Openness and Cooperation
Xi’s Second Proposal Advocates for Mutually Beneficial Openness and Cooperation as a Way to Preserve the International Economic and Trade Order. For Him, Economic Globalization Is an Irresistible Historical Trend and No Country Can Prosper in Isolation.
He Stated That BRICS Countries Must Work Towards Building an Open Global Economy and Fight All Forms of Protectionism.

Xi’s Third Proposal Was to Maintain Solidarity and Cooperation to Create Synergies for Common Development. He Noted That BRICS Countries Together Represent Almost Half of the World’s Population, About 30% of Global Economic Output, and One-Fifth of Global Trade.
Xi Stated That the More BRICS Countries Work Together, the More Resilient and Effective They Become in the Face of External Risks and Challenges. According to Him, China Is Willing to Implement the Global Development Initiative in Partnership with Other Members.
He Stated That the Country Wants to Promote High-Quality Cooperation on the Belt and Road Initiative, Deepen Practical Cooperation, and Make Business, Financial, Scientific, and Technological Areas More Productive. The Goal, He Asserted, Is to Generate Concrete Benefits for the Peoples and Strengthen the BRICS’ Impact on the International Stage.
