The project calendar, which includes diagnostics of port activities and their evaluations, to go to auction in 2022, will first have to go through business modeling and legal preparation until reaching the draft studies and obtaining approval from the TCU.

Scheduled for auction in the second half of 2022, the Port of Itajaí was qualified in the PPI Projects portfolio at the 13th meeting of the PPI Council, through Resolution No. 121, dated 06/10/2020.

The Port Complex of Itajaí is the main option for exporters and importers operating in Santa Catarina and the second largest in container movement in Brazil. By September 2020, the accumulated container movement reached the mark of 1.011 million TEUs. Despite the Covid-19 crisis, the complex showed a growth of 12% compared to the same period in 2019.
The studies, which have been structured by the Planning and Logistics Company (EPL) since the first half of 2020, will also count on the support of the law firm DEMAREST Advogados, Exe Engenharia, and Mind Studies and Engineering Projects for the preparation of transaction reports and business evaluation, legal due diligence, technical-operational assessment, human resources evaluation, management and governance, actuarial and pension evaluation, and environmental assessment.
MInfra Holds Kick-Off Ceremony For The Studies Of The Port Of Itajaí
The Special Secretary of the Investment Partnerships Program (PPI), Martha Seillier, was present yesterday (11/11) at the kick-off ceremony for the privatization studies of the Port of Itajaí, held by the Ministry of Infrastructure.
“The privatization of Brazilian ports is one of the priorities of our management and the Port of Itajaí will be another challenge for our professionals, who have been presenting planned, structuring projects in accordance with public interests,” highlighted Minister Tarcísio de Freitas.
“We at PPI are very happy when we see a project like this progressing. What MInfra is doing in terms of overall port delegation, we believe will be transformative. I congratulate everyone involved. We are sure that this legacy will be noted by the country in the coming years,” said Secretary Martha Seillier.
