The Northern Lights Project Will Be Presented at the Online CO2 Forum Organized by IBP
The Northern Lights, an innovative project by Equinor – in partnership with Total and Shell – for the large-scale development of a CCS (Carbon Capture and Storage) value chain, will be presented in Brazil, exclusively, during the fifth webinar of the Online CO2 Forum, organized by the Brazilian Institute of Oil and Gas (IBP) and scheduled for November 17. Sverre Overå, the director of projects for the Norwegian company, will present the maritime transport of liquid CO2 from capture sites (stationary emission sources) to a temporary storage facility on land on the west coast of Norway. The Online CO2 Forum occurs on Tuesdays at 6 PM until November 24. Registration is free and can be done here.
The Northern Lights is part of a larger project by the Norwegian government – called Longship – focused on creating a value chain for oil and gas for CCS (Carbon Capture and Storage) actions in Norway by 2024. This action was presented to the Norwegian parliament for approval and inclusion in the national budget of that country in October 2020.
