National Announcement Opens Hundreds of Free Slots in Face-to-Face Master’s Program Focused on Professional Education, Offering Opportunities in Dozens of Cities, Specific Research Lines, and Schedules Designed for Those Already Working in Education.

The Ministry of Education (MEC) has launched the announcement for the Professional Master’s in Professional and Technological Education (ProfEPT 2026), offering 769 free slots at various public educational institutions.

The program is aimed at education professionals and represents an opportunity for stricto sensu training with a specific focus on professional and technological education.

The course will be offered in 40 Brazilian cities, through Federal Institutes of Education, Science and Technology, Federal Centers for Technological Education, and the Colégio Pedro II.

Classes will be in-person, organized to balance academic training with the professional routine of students.

Additionally, the master’s program includes two research lines, focused on pedagogical practices and the institutional memory of professional education.

Research Lines of ProfEPT 2026

The two research lines available in ProfEPT 2026 structure academic projects and guide the investigations developed throughout the course.

They focus on central themes of Professional and Technological Education (EPT) and reflect current challenges in the field.

  • Line 1: Educational Practices in Professional and Technological Education (EPT)
  • Line 2: Organization and Memories of Pedagogical Spaces in Professional and Technological Education (EPT)

The lines allow for the development of applied studies, focusing on teaching methodologies, formative processes, and the organization of educational spaces aimed at technical and professional training.

Format of In-Person Classes and Accessible Schedules

One of the main differentiators of ProfEPT 2026 is the organization of classes.

The calendar has been structured to accommodate professionals already working in education who cannot fully dedicate themselves to the course during the week.

Depending on the institution and campus, classes may occur on a weekly, biweekly, or modular basis, concentrated on certain days.

There are units with meetings on Fridays and Saturdays, while others offer evening classes during the week.

In some campuses, the modular format concentrates activities in one week per month, with classes from Monday to Friday, allowing for greater flexibility throughout the academic term.

Participating Institutions and National Coverage

ProfEPT 2026 will be offered by a wide network of federal public institutions.

Among them are several Federal Institutes distributed across all regions of the country, as well as Federal Centers for Technological Education and the Colégio Pedro II.

The program’s proposal is to expand access to stricto sensu postgraduate education and strengthen the training of professionals directly involved in professional and technological education.

With a presence in capitals and interior cities, the course seeks to reduce regional inequalities and enhance the production of knowledge applied to the Brazilian educational reality.

Selection Process of ProfEPT 2026

Admission to the master’s program occurs through a national selection process, according to the rules set out in the announcement.

The stages and evaluation criteria are detailed in the official document and may include document analysis, exams, and assessment of academic proposals, as defined by the program’s coordination.

Candidates are advised to read the announcement carefully before applying, to check requirements, deadlines, and required documentation.

How to Enroll in the Free Master’s Program from MEC

Applications for the selection process of ProfEPT 2026 will be accepted between December 15, 2025, and January 15, 2026.

Those interested should access the official program website, profept.ifes.edu.br, where the complete announcement is available.

The registration fee for the selection process is R$ 160, as stated in the official document.

After reading the announcement, candidates must complete the electronic form and follow the guidelines provided by the program’s coordination, strictly adhering to the established deadlines.
