Generation of 300 Thousand Jobs and R$ 50 Billion in Investments in Solar Energy Is Expected by ABSOLAR for 2023
The Brazilian Solar Photovoltaic Association (ABSOLAR) projects significant and consistent growth in solar energy next year. According to the association, the solar photovoltaic source is expected to generate more than 300 thousand new jobs in 2023 in Brazil, which will cause investments generated by the sector to exceed R$50 billion. This information was announced at the National ABSOLAR Meeting, an annual congress of the Brazilian solar sector.
Why Do Projections for Solar Energy Indicate Such a Large Increase in Jobs and Investments?
Among the reasons for the anticipated growth of solar energy in 2023 are the increase in electricity bills and the benefits this energy source generates for all Brazilian consumers. According to the chairman of the board of directors of ABSOLAR, Ronaldo Koloszuk, photovoltaic technology has been increasingly utilized in the country, capable of extending to all consumption classes and creating a positive multiplier effect in society.
Innovations and Perspectives of Solar Energy
It is not only in terms of employability that solar energy is expected to shine. This year, we will have a total of 23 MW of total installed energy capacity, according to information from ABSOLAR. However, in 2023, 10 gigawatts (GW) of installed capacity will be added, potentially reaching over 34 GW. Thus, we can observe an increase of more than 52% over Brazil’s current solar capacity.
