For Just These Three Rigs That Are Set to Operate in Búzios, Petrobras Is Set to Pay US$ 813 Million to Seadrill
As for the other two drilling vessels that will work in the Búzios field for Petrobras, their contracts were awarded at the end of November.
In other words, Petrobras awarded contracts to the West Carina and West Tellus rigs. The total contract value for these two rigs was about US$ 549 million, including mobilization revenue and additional services.
Both contracts are on a fixed-term basis of three years, and the two rigs are expected to start operating for Petrobras in September 2022. For just these three rigs that are set to operate in Búzios, Petrobras is set to pay US$ 813 million to Seadrill.
Just a few days after the contracts for the West Carina and West Tellus were awarded, Seadrill announced it secured two more deals, this time for work in the Gulf of Mexico.
The first agreement was awarded by Eni for the semisubmersible Sevan Louisiana for a firm well. The other was for the West Neptune drilling vessel, which will continue its work with LLOG, which exercised a US$ 10 million option.
