Sebrae (Brazilian Support Service for Micro and Small Enterprises) has just launched the Sebrae Startups platform, which aims to provide support to early-stage startups by providing a central point for a series of actions directed at the startup ecosystem.
This initiative is part of Sebrae’s strategy to maintain contact with entrepreneurs and help them to grow in their businesses. Sebrae’s goal for this year is to optimize the platform to impact around 10,000 startups through funding programs.
To achieve this, Sebrae will invest around R$ 312 million with the purpose of accelerating businesses, stimulating the development of innovations, and providing technologies. This new amount represents a 22.8% increase compared to last year.
The resources that Sebrae is applying to its platform aim to facilitate the creation of conditions for businesses in all sectors to generate and absorb more innovations, promoting the strengthening of digital businesses, protecting intellectual property assets, and fostering the modernization of traditional small businesses.

Different Stages of Startups and the Actions Available on the Platform
Startups have different issues to solve at their various stages. Early-stage companies seek help for financial survival or even to find the ideal connection between product and demand. Those with paying customers are looking for solutions to scale their business model. Meanwhile, more developed startups focus on dealing with issues related to recruitment and management adaptation, given constant changes.
In order to help companies face these different stages, Sebrae Startups has gathered in one place national programs and initiatives, as well as those developed by state units. The platform offers spaces for companies to access content about innovations and learnings from other startups, in addition to accessing funding initiatives.
Among the actions available on the platform are training programs and entrepreneurial education, open innovation programs to bring startups closer to corporations, startup acceleration, mentoring, support for internationalization, financial support and investment, and connections with venture capital managers.
“We have a reach in the country like no other entity, so there is much to contribute. Entrepreneurship, especially in the area of innovation, is essential for the country’s development in the medium and long term”, highlighted Décio Lima.
Web Summit Rio
The announcement was made at Web Summit Rio, an international event on technology and innovation. The event, which is one of the largest in the world in its category, began on Monday, April 1st, and will run until next Thursday, April 4th.
With Sebrae Startups, Sebrae hopes to positively contribute to innovation and economic development in the country by offering support for those who wish to invest in early-stage businesses. Additionally, the platform is expected to help reduce regional asymmetries in the country, providing equal opportunities to entrepreneurs across the national territory.
Investments in Businesses
With the Sebrae initiative to launch Sebrae Startups and invest in business acceleration, stimulating the development of innovations and making technologies available, it is evident that investment in businesses is essential for the country’s economic development.
The unified platform, which helps startups in different stages of development, offers opportunities for companies to obtain relevant content and establish contact with funding programs across the country, as well as have connections with venture capital managers.
Therefore, if you are an entrepreneur seeking business investments, this is an excellent opportunity to grow and boost your business. The Sebrae Startups can be a differentiator in your entrepreneurial journey, helping you innovate and achieve concrete results.
