IFB Has Hundreds of Open Slots in Free Courses for Entrepreneurship, Administrative Assistant, and Language Courses Such as English, Spanish, and Basic and Intermediate Libras.
The Federal Institute of Brasília (IFB) announced this week the opening of new opportunities in free courses. There are 390 slots for initial and continuing education (FIC) at the Estrutural and Ceilândia campuses for the first semester of this year. Interested candidates can register until February 8th.

At the Estrutural Campus, 240 slots are open in free courses distributed among the following courses:
Administrative Assistant
This course aims to train individuals to work as administrative assistants in companies, providing a set of necessary knowledge for executing administrative procedures and related activities. This course has a workload of 220 hours and requires candidates to be at least 16 years old and have incomplete high school education or currently enrolled.

Basic English
This course aims to introduce basic notions of the English language, utilizing the four skills so that students can establish minimal communication with a speaker of the language. Additionally, it aims to develop a systemic understanding of the linguistic aspects of the language, focusing on developing reading and text interpretation strategies in English. With a workload of 210 hours, it targets individuals who are 14 years old and currently enrolled in or have incomplete high school education.
Spanish (Basic and Intermediate)
The aim is to train professionals capable of working in various sectors of society, communicating in Spanish at a basic level through the four language skills, namely, reading, comprehension, writing, and oral production. The course has a workload of 200 hours and seeks candidates who are at least 16 years old with incomplete high school education or currently enrolled, and for the intermediate course, a certificate of completion of basic Spanish course is required.
Libras (Basic)
The aim is to provide learning of Libras to students, leading them to understand its linguistic aspects, thus enabling inclusive didactic training that allows students to establish basic communication through sign language with the deaf.
Entrepreneurship
The aim is to train professionals, providing them with a systemic and holistic vision of the main focuses necessary for the current, entrepreneurial, and modern management of micro and small businesses, aiming for the financial and economic success of companies. It offers knowledge of the main methods and tools to achieve the best operational, commercial, and managerial results.
Learn How to Register for Free Courses at the Estrutural Campus
Registrations are open until February 8th through the IFB website. The selection of candidates for free courses will take place through a lottery, which will be held at the Estrutural campus on February 9th (Thursday) at 4 PM.
The institution emphasizes that attendance at the lottery is not mandatory for candidates. The results and the calling of the selected candidates will be published on the website and on the notice board of the Estrutural campus, likely on February 10th. Enrollment must be completed from February 13th to 15th. Classes are set to begin on March 20th.
IFB Campus in Ceilândia Also Has Open Slots
For the Ceilândia campus, 150 open slots are available for the following courses:
- Basic Knowledge in Weight Loss and Health;
- Choral Singing for Seniors;
- Basic Libras I – Afternoon and Evening.
Registrations are open until March 8th, as well as enrollment. Classes are scheduled to start on March 18th.
IFB informs that the criterion for filling the slots in the free courses is based on the order of registration and that, to enroll, the interested party must provide basic information and submit documents such as a valid photo ID, CPF, proof of education according to the course requirements, a recent 3×4 photo, proof of residence with ZIP code or a handwritten declaration, and documents proving the requirements for each course.
