Contract Involves Support Activities in the Oil and Gas Sector for Exploration and Production Chain Projects and Will Last for Five Years
The German company Siemens announced the signing of a five-year contract with British Petroleum (BP) to support the entire Upstream chain of the British oil company.
Upstream is a term used in the oil industry that means the part of the production chain that precedes refining, thus encompassing exploration, development, production, and transportation for processing activities.
According to the contract signed between the companies, Siemens will design and provide engineering services, as well as take responsibility for procurement and supply, installation support, and project management.

The contract also stipulates that Siemens will provide commissioning support for electrical distribution systems in some of BP’s projects and will cover both onshore and offshore exploratory activities.
The German group will also design and provide engineering services, in addition to taking responsibility for procurement and supply, installation support, project management, and commissioning support for electrical distribution systems in some of BP’s projects.
