Recoverable Resources for Discoveries in the Åre Formation Range from 6 to 25 MMboe in Haltenbanken.
The Norwegian company Wintershall Dea, along with partners DNO Norge and Equinor, recently completed the drilling of an appraisal well at the Bergknapp discovery, located in the Norwegian Sea. After concluding this phase, the team is now analyzing possible development options for the area.
The successful drilling of the appraisal well at Bergknapp was carried out by the Transocean Norge rig in early December, aiming to reduce uncertainties related to recoverable oil and gas resources in Norway. The updated estimate points to 44 to 75 MMboe of recoverable oil and gas resources in the Garn, Ile, and Tilje formations, in addition to 6 to 25 MMboe in the Åre Formation discovery. This discovery is part of license PL836S, located in a strategic area for Wintershall Dea, 8 km west of the operated Maria field and near several other producing fields.
